My husband Terry and I have two boys, Ethan and Spencer. We have been members of St. Matthew's since 2008. One of the things I enjoy most about St. Matthew's is volunteering at Vacation Bible School, where I love to organize crafts and activities for the kids.
I am a 3rd generation family member here at St. Matthew's. I have 3 girls, one in college, majoring in Youth and Family Ministries and 2 at home. I have been employed at McLendon Hardware for 6 years in Accounts Payable.
I have been attending SMLC since 2007 after my wife (Lisa) and I returned to Seattle from the East Coast with our first child (Kylie – now 11 years old). We were both attracted to SMLC due to the wonderful people and the engaging music that made the worship experience truly a welcoming place. After see many changes and meeting many people at SMLC, I'm excited to be giving back and serving the entire SMLC community and through SMLC the larger Renton community. In my free time when I'm not working at Boeing in Renton, I enjoy spending time with my family that also includes our youngest Grace (8 years old). We all love being active in the outdoors hiking, camping, skiing, and biking and also enjoy rooting for the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks. GO PACK GO! (and oh yeah - go hawks)
I have been attending St. Matthew for about 10 years. I am inspired by the grace and acceptance our church shows to each other and to the community. I am excited to serve on council and look forward to seeing the possibilities of where SMLC will go next. I am a wife and mom, avid reader, volunteer and a reluctant sailor.
For about 22 years, St. Matthew’s has been my church home. Hebrews 12:1 calls us to run with perseverance the race marked out for us. I am inspired by SMLC’s longstanding commitment to the community by its many outreach programs. Today, we are witnessing many challenges facing our local and global communities. I believe God has called me to serve on Council to help SMLC find ways to address those challenges and to strengthen its relationship with the community. When I’m not working for the Federal Aviation Administration or at church, you can find me running, pedaling my bike, working on a house project, or doing agility with the family dog.
