Summer 2012 Financial Update 

Dear Friends,

People expressed a great deal of appreciation for the Special Congregational Meeting on Sunday July 8. The purpose of the meeting was to inform the people of SMLC about the state of our finances and the potential impact on pastor/staff reduction. It was a “cut to the chase meeting” which made it very clear that our failure to act will lead to the breakup of our current staff.

The solution is to engage a much broader base of people who are willing to begin giving or increase their giving by $10 -$20 a week.   People who have weathered these tough economic times were encouraged to do more. How gratifying it was to receive a $10,000 gift on Monday.

Now is the time to act.

2. Print a pledge card, fill it out, return it to church, and become a part the movement to strengthen the financial support of SMLC.
