The Bands

St. Matthew’s is blessed to have 3 worship bands leading services on Sundays at 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. These bands play a mix of sacred and secular music, and rehearse at least once a week. If you are interested in being part of a band, please contact Pastor Gretchen for an audition time.

The God Squad: Steve Wessel, leader. Tina Boyd, Andy Callender, Dawn Kinzer,  Alan Brozovich and Bob Smith. Tunes in a contemporary Christian vein. Sounds like: James Taylor, Supertramp, Journey, Five for Fighting, John Mayer.

The Dirty Switch: Gretchen Mertes, leader. Ryan Mertes, Leann St.Germain, Becky and Wendell Hill, and Curtis Simuel. Funk, rock, pop, and folk influences. Sounds like: G Love and Special Sauce, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, The Pull.

God’s Garage, Part Deux: Monica Manthey, leader.  Jeff Kluth, Rustan Leino, and Greg McDole. Blues, classic rock, barrelhouse, and southern-fried influences. Sounds like: Allman Brothers, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, Santana.  Looking for a guitar player/keyboard player to supplement the band!  Contact Pastor Gretchen if you’re interested in auditioning.
