Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking about my upcoming worship class on Sunday nights (starting 1/10) and I thought I’d give you a little hint on what it’s going to be about.
The first session is going to be about liturgical history, form, and meeting. We will talk about the Lutheran sacraments as well – communion and baptism. What makes them important as part of our worship life?
The second session is going to look at hymnody and sacred song. What makes a song sacred anyway? How come we use so much music from the radio in worship at SMLC? Is there truth to the statement, “all music is God’s music?”
The final session will look at different styles of worship, and the “shape of the rite” – what makes worship worship. We will have an opportunity to shape our own service, and you can design a service of your own!
This class is free, and open to all people. Please come, and learn more about why we do what we do!
