Regional Bible Study Event for Women

All women are invited to come to Silverdale, WA on Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to meet the authors of the 2010-2011 Lutheran Woman Today Bible Study. The study is titled “God’s People: Unity in the Midst of Diversity”. The cost is $15 and includes lunch. The presenters: Rev. Jensen Seyenkulo and Rev. Linda Johnson Seyenkulo will introduce the study and give an overview.

A registration form is available in the office or here on our website. The deadline to register is August 17. The location is Silverdale Lutheran Church, 11701 Ridgepoint Drive NW, Silverdale, WA. If you have questions, contact Dawn Johnson or Pastor Kathryn.

WOMEN… Do you ever wish for a New Beginning? A chance to start over? Join the adventure: meet other women who are on the way to a Grand New Day!

WHO: WOMEN in need of fellowship, faith growth and Grace, Grace, Grace…..

WHAT : New friends who begin a Women of Faith bible study and ongoing fellowship, then follow where the Spirit leads

WHEN: We are gathering on the 2nd and 4th Monday’s of the month, 6:30-8:30pm

WHERE: SMLC to start…may host at individual homes in the future.

WHY: We need each other along this journey…..and after all Women make the world go round, just read your bible….Martha, Mary, Esther, Ruth, ……the list goes on and on!!

Bible Study at Your Own Pace

I’ve heard from more than one person how frustrating it can be to try to read the bible. The names, actions, and stories seem strange and unfamiliar. But trying to find the time for a class is also a challenge! I just recently took a look at a new website that Luther seminary has launched. It’s set up so that you can get as much information as you want, from commentaries on one brief section to summaries of the major points. Study on Martin Luther

The Adult Bible Study Group (meeting Sunday mornings 9:30am) will begin a new series on January 10th. The topic is “Martin Luther” – find out about his life and times, and how this monk and teacher became involved in events that still impact us to this day. What was the Reformation? What did he do to get himself thrown out of the church? What was so great about his work that there are still people who call themselves “Lutheran”? Everyone is welcome to attend.

Adult Bible Study Group

Ongoing study of “The Jesus I Never Knew” with video and discussion – great for anyone who wants to know more of Jesus. We meet at 9:30am on Sundays in the Conference Room. This session ends December 13; we will start a new topic in January.
