Life Stage Youth
Youth ministry at St. Matthew’s looks a little different than traditional youth ministries. Sure, we have some of the usual stuff: on Sunday mornings we meet for Sunday school during the 9:30am service. On Sunday nights we have SMACK, our middle school and high school youth group. We also have occasional lock-ins, monthly service projects, mission trips, and other fun events.
But, more importantly, one of our goals is to see youth involved in the whole life of the church. If your student isn’t into going to youth group, or doesn’t really like Sunday school – that’s OK. Hopefully he or she will take advantage of the many other ways to be involved in the life of St. Matthew’s, like being a part of a worship band, helping as a communion assistant or usher, serving the “Amigos of April,” helping to lead a children’s Sunday school class, or any of the many other opportunities we have. We would love for your student to plug-in wherever and however he or she feels comfortable!
Another way St. Matthew’s is different is that we value serving the youth of our community. One way we do this is through our before and after school program for middle school students, which meets on Tuesdays from 2:35 – 4:00pm and late start Fridays during the school year from 7:30 – 9:00am. Feel free to click around to learn more about our students, programs, and to see where you and your student can be involved.
