Worship Involvement
The Worship Ministry at SMLC involves over 150 people each week to assist with our Worship services
8:00 am service
Soloist- a vocal or instrumental performer singing special music appropriate to the service at the offering
Hand Bell Choir- performing with the hand bells. Weekly practices and monthly performances
Senior Choir- Directed by Susan Kriesel, all singers are welcome. A variety of pieces from classical to contemporary choir music. Weekly rehearsals, bi-monthly performances
Pianist- Pianists are needed to accompany choirs, play for wedding and funerals, and to perform solo pieces
Team Leader- Verify arrival of volunteers, assist with positions as needed, find last minute fill-ins
Communion Assistant- assist pastor with bread and wine distribution
Usher-distribute bulletins, collect offering, count attendance, and assist worshippers to communion
Greeter- welcome and send off worshippers
Coffee Bar- make and serve coffee and tea
Information and Welcome Host- greeting visitors before and after service, be available to answer questions, hand out welcome packets
Tech Crew- help with sound, lights, and projection
Tape and CD Duplication- duplicate CDs and sermon tapes immediately after the sermon
Communion Set Up (Altar Guild)- set up and clean communion equipment , assist with upkeep of altar
Scripture Reader- read the bible passage for the day, 1st and 2nd lesson
9:30 & 11:00 AM Service
Worship Teams- musicians who would like to be part of a worship team must audition with Pastor Gretchen, and commit to the band they are in
Childrens Choir- is open to children ages 5 through 5th grade
Drama Teams-perform a few times a year, during worship and at special services
