Before and After School Program

afterschoolprogramSt. Matthew’s after school program runs from 2:35 to 4:00pm each Tuesday throughout the school year, beginning at the end of each September. It is provided as a service to the families and middle school students of our community. The after school program exists to provide a safe place for McKnight Middle School students to hang out after school while promoting these values:

  • Acceptance
  • Growing relationships
  • Youth-friendly activities
  • Community involvement
  • Fun!

We are currently looking for volunteers to serve in several key positions:

  • Activity volunteers – Do you have a skill, craft, or activity that you would be willing to share with middle school students? You could be a good fit to help share this knowledge or skill with middle school students on a Tuesday afternoon.
  • Program volunteers – Do you enjoy the energy and fun-loving nature of middle school students? We would love to have you come on Tuesday afternoons as a volunteer to spend time with the students and ensure a fun and accepting atmosphere.

St. Matthew’s also provides a pancake breakfast each late start Friday from 7:30 – 9:00am throughout the school year to McKnight Middle School students who would like a place to go before school.  This is a time for them to hang out with their friends, do some homework, have breakfast, and play some indoor games.

If you are interested in serving in one of these positions, have any questions about the programs, or any items you would like to donate, please email Todd Hobart or call (425) 226-2420 x130.
