Heart Healthy Kids’ Poster Contest

Children and youth (age 18 and under) are invited to create a piece of art that depicts behaviors (like healthy eating, exercise, stress relief, and health care) that take care of our hearts. PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED!!!!! Posters must be submitted to Ms. Nicole or Joan Stewart by 10am on Sunday, February 12.

This Valentine’s Day, celebrate loving the most important heart of all, the one inside of you!

From bread baking and craft making to the story and symbolism of the Passover and the Last Supper, this promises to be a fun, faith adventure for the whole family. Come discover what communion is all about! Children and their parents are invited to join us. Nursery care will be available for children age 3 and under by advance request. Kids in Lent

On Ash Wednesday, March 9, children are invited to attend worship at 7pm. There will be a special children’s message time and coloring books!

WEDNESDAYS 6:00-7:30pm March 16-April 13

Family dinner begins at 6pm in the Fellowship Hall! At 6:45pm, children age 3 through 5^th grade will be invited to join Ms. Nicole in the Conference Center for story, craft, activities, free play, a special gift, and more, while adults attend our worship service. Lent is a “serious time” but we will be learning all about it with five symbols that have a SILLY twist! As always, nursery care will be available for children age 3 and under.

Trunk or Treat

SUNDAY, October 31, 1-3pm

Put on your costumes and head to the St. Matthew’s parking lot to start celebrating before it gets dark! Families are invited to travel from trunk to trunk for free fun in our parking lot with treats, games, crafts, snacks, and more!

Trunk hosts needed!!! Adults, families, ministry groups, friends, couples…EVERYONE is invited to bring a vehicle, throw open the trunk, put up some festive decorations, and provide candy, a game, simple craft, or whatever you can give! Miscarriage Ministry

Beginning October 4, St. Matthew’s will be offering a four-week miscarriage grief group on Monday evenings from 7:00-8:30pm. Delmas Luedke, Pastor and retired Director of Spiritual Care for Swedish Hospital, and his wife, Bobbi, a registered nurse, will facilitate the gathering. Persons of any age and/or their partners, who have ever lost a child in utero are invited to attend. We will share our stories, discuss miscarriage education and support, and prepare for a special memorial service. A Memorial Service

Saturday, March 6 2:00pm

One of the most pain filled experiences in life is to conceive a child and look forward with great anticipation to this new life only to have the experience end in death. This is a loss known by so many people in our community. We unknowingly add to the parent’s grief when we do not know how to acknowledge their loss.

St. Matthew’s will be hosting a Memorial Service to remember our children who were not able to experience life in its fullness. This Memorial is open to all as we will gather to remember the children and to bring a word of hope and comfort to the families.

Parents who would like are invited to bring memorabilia of their child(ren) which we will carefully display at the entrance of the worship space. A reception will be held following the service for all of those who attend.
