I choose Life!

Working for a church is never easy. The pain that many people suffer in the congregation and in the community can be overwhelming to witness. I am amazed that so many people exist without the basics of life- food , shelter and clothing. Not to mention, love, companionship and hope.
I am challenged everyday with my own struggles- raising two wonderful, yet independent teenagers, a supportive husband, although we face many challenges, just like most couples do.
Lately,I am seeing a huge amount of suffering in my personal life. Many of my dear friends are facing divorce, several friends my age have suffered heart attacks and I wonder, “where is this all going?”
I, too, have experienced huge crisis in my life, losing both of my parents tragically in a car accident seven years ago. The pain still tears through my heart, but…
I know that through my pain , God provides hope, through my suffering, God extends compassion. He has given me the ability to make choices in my life every day. Choices between life or death.
Today, I will make a choice, and I choose, Life! I will choose to call my husband and tell him I love him and appreciate him and let my kids know they are cherished.
There are no guarantee’s in life and when we wake up each day, we don’t know what life will offer…
What choice will you make today?
